Ronald L. Perl, Esq.

Ronald L. Perl is a partner of Hill Wallack LLP and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. He is partner-in-charge of the firm’s Community Association Law and Eminent Domain Practice Groups and is a member of the Regulatory & Government Affairs Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in the areas of community association law, transactional real estate, eminent domain and tax appeals. He is also a mediator for construction, real estate and community association disputes.

Mr. Perl is nationally recognized for his work in the field of community association law and is a member of the National College of Community Association Lawyers. He is an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall Law School in Newark where he teaches a course on Community Association Law. He is co-author of the recently published book entitled Construction Defect Litigation – The Community Association’s Guide to the Legal Process and was a contributing author of the book, Building Community: Proven Strategies for Turning Homeowners into Neighbors published by the Community Association Press.

Mr. Perl is National President of the Community Associations Institute. He is past President of the New Jersey Chapter and past President of its political action committee (CA-PAC).

Mr. Perl has been handling eminent domain (condemnation) cases and real property tax appeals for thirty years. He is a former Deputy Attorney General, having represented the New Jersey Department of Transportation in condemnation and relocation assistance matters. He currently represents both property owners and condemning authorities in “taking” cases and relocation assistance matters. He serves as outside counsel to New Jersey Transit Corporation for condemnation matters and has worked on projects such as the Secaucus Junction Rail Station and the Newark-Elizabeth Rail Link connecting the Broad Street and Penn Stations in Newark.

A graduate of Rutgers College and Rutgers Law School, he is admitted to practice in New Jersey (1976), New York (1984) and Pennsylvania (1992). He is also admitted to the bars of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

He is a member of the American Bar, the New Jersey State and the Mercer County Bar Associations.
